Who we are

Health (“Joya”, “we”, “us”) is a personal fitness journaling and coaching application. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, contact us at will@liveohana.ai.

Information we collect

We collect only what is necessary to run the service:

  • Account information. Your email address and a display name when you sign up.
  • Profile information you provide.Height, weight, birthdate, sex, and activity preferences — all optional and used to personalize coaching and estimate calorie burn.
  • Journal entries. The raw text you save and the structured data our AI extracts from it (activities, workouts, sleep, mood, soreness, nutrition).
  • Training data. Workout plans you create, sessions you log, exercises, sets, and saved places (e.g. courts or pitches you marked as favorites).
  • Health metrics from connected services. If you choose to connect Whoop, Oura, Apple Health, or similar, we pull data such as steps, sleep hours, HRV, resting heart rate, active calories, and recovery scores for the dates you authorize.
  • Authentication tokens. For connected services we store OAuth access and refresh tokens so we can sync on your behalf. You can disconnect at any time; we delete the tokens when you do.
  • Basic technical data. Standard server logs (timestamps, IP, user-agent) for security and debugging.

How we use your data

  • Display your entries, plans, and metrics back to you.
  • Generate personalized suggestions, plans, and chat responses via our AI coach.
  • Estimate calorie burn and other derived metrics.
  • Keep the service secure and diagnose issues.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data to train third-party machine-learning models.

Third-party services

We share the minimum data necessary with the vendors that power the app:

  • Supabase— database, authentication, and storage.
  • Anthropic (Claude API)— powers the AI coach, journal parsing, and plan generation. Entries and profile summaries are sent only at the moment of the request and are subject to Anthropic’s data retention policies.
  • Whoop, Oura, Apple Health, and similar providers — we read the health metrics you authorize and store the results in your account.
  • OpenStreetMap / Nominatim / Overpass— used to look up nearby courts and geocode addresses. Only coordinates or your search query are sent.

Whoop integration

When you connect Whoop, we use Whoop’s OAuth flow to request read access to your recovery, sleep, and workout data. We store the resulting access and refresh tokens encrypted in our database and use them to sync the metrics you see inside the app. We never post to Whoop on your behalf. You can revoke access at any time from your Whoop account or by disconnecting in Joya — we will delete the tokens and stop future syncs.

Your choices and rights

  • Access and export. Email us at will@liveohana.ai and we will send you a copy of your data.
  • Deletion. You can delete your account from settings, or email us and we will delete your data within 30 days.
  • Disconnect integrations. You can disconnect any connected service at any time. Previously-synced metrics remain in your journal until you delete them.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your journal entries, plans, sessions, saved places, health metrics, and connected-service tokens are removed from our production database. Backups that contain deleted data roll off within 30 days.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in Supabase with row-level security so only the authenticated owner can read their own rows. We follow standard practices for secret management and rotate credentials when needed. No system is perfectly secure; if we discover a breach that affects your data, we will notify you.

Children

Health is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will delete the account.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced in the app.
